A little about me and my ethos
I'm Irene, a registered midwife offering de-briefing services following challenging birth events.
From early in my career I was drawn to a philosophy of care that holds what women want at the centre. I always did my best to advocate personalised care.
Partly due to the unpredictable nature of pregnancy and partly because of today's NHS resources, I believe there is a deeply rooted need to listen to women after birth events.
Hospitals offer birth after-thought services which can be helpful, but these can be impersonal and not well informed, to the point that they can re-trigger trauma feelings.
It is in this context that I strive to offer sessions of soothing safe listening space of self-care that are so needed after birth.
When I am not working, you'll probably find me creating memories exploring the beautiful English countryside, trying to listen to Nature and soothe my senses.
